SCOTT AIR FORCE BASE, Ill. – Golfers took to the links May 11 at the Cardinal Creek Golf Course, Scott Air Force Base, Ill., for the U.S. Army Ball Golf Tournament.
Eighty-two duffers in 23 teams drove, sliced, hacked and blasted their way through the 18 holes, and according to tournament coordinator Army Maj. Sean Teitelbaum, raised approximately $3000.
“Funds raised from the golf tournament will allow our junior enlisted members, E-6 and below, to attend the Army Ball at no cost,” Teitelbaum said.
The tournament’s winning team was the USTRANSCOM chief of staff’s foursome, which consisted of Maj. Gen. Gregory Couch, USTRANSCOM chief of Staff, Maj. Gen. (retired) Joe Thompson, Col. Brady Cheek and Dan Roper.
The 237th Army Birthday celebration, the Mid-America Army Birthday Ball, will be held at the St. Louis Hyatt Regency at the Arch hotel, June 16.

Memorial Day to Labor Day, known as the Critical Days of Summer, is the time of year when people see an increase in mishaps as they get out to enjoy the warm weather.
