SCOTT AIR FORCE BASE, Ill. – Gen. William M. Fraser III, commander, U.S. Transportation Command and Dr. Jay Smith, director, U.S. Transportation Command Research Center, welcomed Ambassador Andris Razans, Republic of Latvia, to U.S. Transportation Command and Air Mobility Command on Scott Air Force Base, Ill., Dec. 11, 2012. The ambassador also received an AMC command briefing and a tour of the 618 AOC (TACC) and the Army Military Surface Deployment and Distribution Command (SDDC). Building partnership capacity is vital for AMC to continue to answer the call so others my prevail.

Flag Day was first observed on June 14, 1877, the 100th anniversary of the adoption of the Stars and Stripes, as the first flag was called. Congress instructed that the flag be flown from all public buildings to recognize the anniversary.
The U.S. Transportation Command hosted a Battle of Midway observance June 5 to commemorate the World War II confrontation which changed the war’s direction in favor of the United States and the Allies.
